Jiří Flajšar (*1975) is Assistant Professor (Lecturer) of English and American Literature at Palacky University, Olomouc, Czech Republic. He got his PhD from Palacky U. in 2001. A recipient of several American, Canadian, and Czech research grants and writing fellowships, he spent the year 2000-1 at the University of Maryland as a Fulbright visiting researcher.

His teaching focuses on American Literature from 1890 to 1945, Twentieth-Century American and Canadian poetry, creative writing methodology and practice (in English).
