Osobní informace

I have been a member of the Department of English and American Studies since 1990. My qualifications include a Magister in English and Czech philology from Palacký University, a Master degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of London and a PhD in linguistics from the University of Hawaii.

I teach courses in general phonetics and phonology, English phonetics, pronunciation training, accent variation in English, Foreign accent, Second Language Acquisition.

My research focuses on second language perception and production, bilingual speech, and the phenomenon of foreign accent. Currently I am interested in the topic of phonetic consequences of bilingual code-switching.
